So trust was broken, there's been a
break up and now you have a broken heart...
It happens to all of us at one time or
another but when you are in the middle of it, a broken heart
can feel just like that...that your heart is literally
breaking apart. After a break
up or divorce, you can find yourself at loose ends and not
able to get on with your life. It may be very difficult to
do every day things like even go to work.
You may find that you cry for no reason
and you don't want to be around people because you don't
want to bring them down. You
don't feel like going out but you also don't want to be
alone. You just don't know how
to start picking up the pieces.
If this describes you, here are a
couple of things we suggest you do...
1. Take some time every day to mourn
the passing of the relationship--treat it just like the
death that it is.
2. Be honest with yourself about how
the relationship really was. Don't sugar coat it and make it
better than it was and don't make it worse. Just get an
accurate picture in your mind of how it was and what
happened to break it apart. 3.
Forget blame. Concentrate on what you learned by being in
this relationship. What did it teach you?
4. Start looking at what you want in
your life and in a relationship. This doesn't mean that you
are finding someone new soon and getting out to date again.
We suggest you do some healing
before you start another relationship. But it is never to
soon to get in your mind the qualities that you want in a
relationship and how you want to be treated.
